Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
bridg.fun ("bridg.fun", "we", "us") is a free, browser-based tool for sharing files, text, code, and links that are encrypted and automatically deleted after a short time. Privacy is the core of how the product is built: we designed it so that we collect and retain as little information about you as possible. This policy explains what we do and do not process.
The short version
- We never ask you to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number to use the service.
- Your content is encrypted in your browser before it is uploaded. We cannot read it.
- Shares are temporary and are deleted automatically when they expire or after download.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Information we process
Content you share
Files, messages, code, and links you send are encrypted on your device using AES-256 before they leave your browser. The decryption key is contained in the share link and is never sent to our servers, so the encrypted content we temporarily store cannot be read by us or by anyone without the code or link. This is often described as a zero-knowledge design.
Technical data
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information needed to deliver the service securely and reliably, such as IP address and browser type in server logs. This data is used for security, abuse prevention, and operating the service, and is not used to build a profile of you.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate usage (for example, how many people visit a page). These analytics do not use tracking cookies, do not collect personal information, and do not follow you across other websites.
Preferences stored on your device
We store a small amount of data in your browser's local storage — for example your light/dark theme choice — so the app remembers your preferences. This never leaves your device and is not a cookie. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How long we keep data
Encrypted shares are stored only for the lifetime you choose (15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour) and are removed automatically when they expire. If you enable "delete after download," a share is removed as soon as it is retrieved. Server logs are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your information. We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service — for example, hosting and storage (Netlify), web fonts, and cookieless analytics. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, though because content is encrypted with a key we never receive, the content of your shares is not something we are able to produce in readable form.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing (for example under the GDPR or CCPA). Because we operate without accounts and hold minimal personal data, in most cases the fastest way to remove a share is simply to let it expire or use the delete-after-download option.
Children
bridg.fun is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
Content is encrypted end to end and transmitted over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but our zero-knowledge design means that even in the unlikely event of a data breach, stored shares remain encrypted and unreadable without the key held in the link. Learn more on our security page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
Contact
bridg.fun operates without accounts, so we do not hold a personal profile linked to you. Any updates to this policy will be posted on this page.
